Gary Cellini, PharmD, MBA

Founder, Partner

Prior to being one of the founders of SWOT Health, Gary was President of Satellite Health Plan, an End Stage Renal Disease (ESRD) Medicare Advantage Special Needs Plan.  In addition, Gary was Vice President of Strategic Initiatives for Satellite Healthcare, Inc.   In these roles, Gary was responsible for ensuring Satellite Healthcare Inc., the parent organization of Satellite Health Plan, Inc., effectively navigated the complex changes the dialysis industry faced with health care reform by assuming capitated and shared risks agreements.

   

Before joining Satellite Healthcare, Gary was with DaVita, Inc., where he was the lead executive on the development of two CMS demonstration projects; the CMS End Stage Renal Disease Management Demonstration (SCAN VillageHealth in California) and the CMS Care Management for High Cost Chronic Kidney Disease Beneficiaries (Key to Better Health in New York).   In addition, Gary developed six Medicare Advantage End Stage Renal Disease Special Need Plans in five states and the District of Colombia.

 

Prior to DaVita, Gary was with Baxter International, where he was a VP/GM managing a nephrology independent practice association.  In this role, he co-developed Baxter’s RMS Renal Disease Management and Vascular Access Services.

 

Gary is a registered pharmacist with a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of the Pacific Stockton and a Masters of Business Administration degree from University of California Los Angeles.  He is also a Board Member of the Renal Services Exchange, Inc., a for profit subsidiary of the National Renal Administrators Association.
